Jocelyn Claire Thomas:

 

Jocelyn Claire Thomas, a versatile soprano praised for her haunting sound and musical intelligence, is a frequent performer in opera, concert, and recital. Roles performed by Ms. Thomas include “Susanna” in Le Nozze di Figaro, “Despina” in Così fan tutte, “Zerlina” in Don Giovanni, "Pamina" and “First Lady” in Die Zauberflöte, ”Marcelline" in Fidelio, "Morgana" in Alcina, “Gretel” in Hansel and Gretel, and “Adele” in Die Fledermaus.

 

Ms. Thomas has appeared with Opera Bend, Bravo! Northwest, Cascadia Concert Opera, The Napa Music Festival, The Astoria Music Festival, FAVA Salzburg, and Portland Summerfest. Other concert appearances include Soprano Soloist in Mendelssohn's Elijah, Bach's Magnificat, Mozart's Coronation Mass, Haydn’s Missa Sancti Nicolai, Saint-Saëns’ Christmas Oratorio, Faure's Requiem, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Handel's Messiah.

 

Ms. Thomas holds a Bachelors of Music in Voice from the Oberlin Conservatory, a Masters Degree in Voice from the Peabody Conservatory, and also a Graduate Performance Diploma from the Peabody Conservatory.

 

Upcoming engagements include Soprano in the solo quartet in Orpheus and Eurydice with Brava Opera Theatre, Soprano Soloist in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 “Choral” with Bravo! Northwest, “Amy March” in Little Women with Eugene Opera, and “Musetta” in La Bohème with Opera Bend. Jocelyn is currently based in Portland,
